چکیده

This paper reflects the role of a national statistical office in building and supporting the phenomena called eGovernment. The paper outlines some of the roles that Statistics Finland has in eGovernment and addresses specific experiences related to electronic data dissemination to decision-making bodies, citizens, media and electronic data collection from the enterprises and the public sector. It then evaluates the challenges and possibilities of technical development in building an e-production process. The paper also touches the issue of governmental co-operation in eStatistics and statistics describing the eSociety. PKI and its role in security are also briefly discussed.
